Addis Ababa Commemorates 83rd Anniversary of Patriots’ Victory Day

Addis Ababa, Ethiopia – Ethiopia marked the 83rd anniversary of the Patriots’ Victory Day with a ceremony held around Arat Kilo, where the monument commemorating the victory and the patriots stands.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, the celebration was attended by President Sahle-Work Zewde, veterans of the resistance, members of the National Defense Forces, representatives of the diplomatic community, and government officials. The day commemorates the 1941 defeat of fascist Italian forces by Ethiopian patriots, which preserved the nation’s territorial integrity and marked the end of Italian aggression on May 5.
