International Conference on Arabic Language Teaching Set for Seoul

SEOUL — The King Salman World Academy for Arabic Language, in collaboration with the Korean Association of Arabic Language and Literature and Hankuk University of Foreign Studies, will host an international conference on “Challenges and Prospects of Teaching Arabic Language and Literature” on May 9-10, 2024, in Seoul, Republic of Korea. The conference aims to address the evolving needs of Arabic language education globally and to enhance the methods and materials used in teaching the language.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the conference will explore a range of topics across six main themes. These include modern methodologies for teaching Arabic as a second language, the preparation of teaching materials, assessment and evaluation practices, and teaching techniques and technologies. The event will also assess the current state of Arabic language teaching in Korea and discuss future directions for language planning both for Arabic and within the Korean context. The conference targets Arabic language educators, scholars, and researchers from around the world, aiming to foster collaboration and share insights on advancing Arabic language education. This initiative is part of a broader effort by KSGAAL to support the Arabic language’s development, maintain its cultural integrity, and expand its teaching globally.
