Announcement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs regarding the evacuation of Greek citizens from the Odessa region – operation ‘Nostos 2’

Given the prevailing security situation in the wider region of Odessa, the competent Consulate General suggested and received permission to arrange an operation for the evacuation of Greek Citizens and their family members from the region.

Operation “Nostos 2” took place today. Twenty-six people were evacuated.

They were escorted by the Consul General in Odessa, Dimitris Dochtsis.

The abovementioned arrived in Moldova where they were received by the Ambassador of Greece to Romania, Sofia Grammata.

It is noted that the Consulate General in Odessa continues to operate.

The Consul General is returning to his headquarters.
