Police detain suspects for possession of unlicensed firearm and ammunition

Dedicated and committed police officers in the Western Cape continue to clamp down on suspects in possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

Malmesbury police members were busy with visible policing patrols on Monday, 25 September 2023. The members responded to information and entered a dwelling in Tshwete Street, Illingelethu and searched the entire premises. Their commitment was rewarded when they discovered a revolver with ammunition hidden in a sock on top of a deep freezer. They arrested and detained three males aged between 21 and 34 on a charge of possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

Once charged the suspects are expected to make their respective court appearances in the Malmesbury Magistrate Court on the mentioned charges.
