Giyani police seek assistance of the public to identify two bodies found in Giyani Policing District

The Police in Giyani seek public assistance in locating the families and relatives of the two deceased males believed to be aged between 22 and 35 respectively.

The first body was discovered on Wednesday, 31 May 2023, at Mphangani village outside Dzumeri village in the morning at about 10:00. According to police report, an elderly woman was looking for firewood in the nearby bushes when she allegedly discovered a lifeless body of an unknown man in a decomposed stage. He is estimated to be aged between 25 and 35 years old. The deceased has a tattoo on the left shoulder.

Another lifeless body of a male was discovered on Thursday, 01 June 2023 at about 11:20, while flouting in a water canal by a cattle herder who was looking for the livestock between Nhlaneki and Mapuve villages. The victim was allegedly found with his legs tied with a rope and was wearing a black trouser with a black jacket without shoes.

The motive behind the two incidents is currently unknown at this stage but police investigations are ongoing.
