Trade : the WTO revises its forecasts downwards

In the latest edition of ‘World Trade Outlook and Statistics’ published on October 5, 2023, the World Trade Organization (WTO) revised downwards its forecasts for trade in 2023-2024. Thus, the volume of world merchandise trade will be 0.8 percent, less than half of the 1.7 percent growth expected. For 2024, trade is forecast to grow by 3.3 percent in 2024.
