Kenya is ambitiously planning to expand its tourism sector’s impact on the national economy to 1,000 billion Kenyan shillings (approximately $6.2 billion) through a strategic plan set for the years 2023-2028. This plan includes targeting 5.5 million international tourist arrivals within this period.

According to Africa News Agency, the involvement of the private sector and other key industry stakeholders is critical to achieving this goal. The projected figures are expected to surpass the 2 million arrivals recorded in 2019, setting a path for sustained growth.
