Photo Exhibition Celebrating 120 Years of Ethiopia-U.S. Relations Opens in Addis Ababa

ADDIS ABABA – A photo exhibition marking the 120-year diplomatic relationship between Ethiopia and the United States opened today at the National Museum in Addis Ababa. The exhibition features a collection of photographs that chronicle the historical and ongoing connections between the two countries.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, Ervin Massinga, the exhibition is a reflection of the deep-rooted ties between Ethiopia and the United States, covering significant cooperation in health, education, agriculture, and economic development. He emphasized the exhibition’s role in celebrating the shared milestones and strengthening the bonds between the nations. The exhibition will also travel to various locations in Addis Ababa, making it accessible to a wider audience.

Tourism State Minister Sileshi Girma noted that the photo exhibit not only commemorates the longstanding relations but also continues the celebration of the 120th anniversary of the initiation of diplomatic ties, which began in 1903 with a Treaty of Commerce. He highlighted that Ethiopia is one of the United States’ closest allies in Sub-Saharan Africa, with collaborations spanning multiple sectors. Girma also pointed out the growing cultural and people-to-people ties enhancing the bilateral relationship.
