Phase One of CAF A License Coaching Course Concludes at SAFA Headquarters

The first phase of the CAF A Coaching Course recently concluded at the South African Football Association (SAFA) Headquarters. The course, which ran from 13-20 November 2023, marked the completion of the first 70 hours of the 200 required by CAF for participants to earn an A License Diploma in learning.

According to South African Football Association, During the eight-day engagement, a variety of topics were covered, including the Playing Philosophy of South Africa, the FIFA Talent Development Scheme, Management and Leadership, Laws of the Game, and Player Scouting and Analysis (both internal and external). These sessions aimed to equip the participants with a comprehensive understanding of modern football coaching and management.

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Jabulani Mendu shared his experience of the course on www.safa.net, stating that the knowledge gained would significantly impact his football journey. Mendu highlighted the sessions on leadership and management and the updated laws of the game as particularly beneficial.

The second phase of the CAF A License coaching course is scheduled for January 2024. Participants will reconvene in Johannesburg for another learning block, moving them closer to achieving their diploma.
