Iran and Burkina Faso Announce University-Level Scientific Cooperation

OUAGADOUGOU – The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Burkina Faso, Mojtaba Faghihi, disclosed on Friday plans for scientific cooperation between universities in his country and Burkina Faso. This was reported by the Burkina Information Agency.

According to News Releases by Burkina Information Agency, “Two weeks ago documents were signed between the two countries within the framework of the Iran-Burkina joint commission, and among these documents was one concerning scientific cooperation,” stated Ambassador Mojtaba Faghihi. The ambassador further noted that the current visit of the president of the Technical and Professional University to Burkina Faso aims to turn this signed commitment into reality.

Ambassador Faghihi made these remarks following a meeting with Joseph Ki-Zerbo, the president of Joseph Ki-Zerbo University, the largest and oldest university in Burkina Faso. He emphasized that the Iranian Technical and Vocational University has been successful in establishing a link between educational institutions and businesses, aiding students in job placement after graduation.

The meeting served as an opportunity to foster relationships between the academic communities and younger generations in both nations. “It is a promising prospect because academics from all over the world are able to understand each other, and that is why they will be able to facilitate relations between the two countries,” the ambassador added.

Mojtaba Faghihi concluded by stating that the Technical and Vocational University of Iran and its president, Dr. Erfan Khosrvian, who also participated in the interview, are ready to share their experiences with Joseph Ki-Zerbo University in Burkina Faso.
