Kossi Province Holds Third Provincial Consultation Session

Nouna – Noufo Dembélé, the High Commissioner of Kossi province, presided over the third ordinary session of the provincial consultation framework on December 5, 2023, in Nouna. The session focused on the current humanitarian, health, educational, and security situation in Kossi province.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the session aimed to assess the situation and develop potential solutions, perspectives, and recommendations. The members also reviewed the Resilience and Social Cohesion Program in the Sahel, “PROGRESS,” implemented by the NGO Terre d’es Hommes (TDH). The communicators at the session analyzed the situation to provide solutions for the well-being of the local population.

The Kossi provincial consultation framework comes at a critical time, as the province faces challenges including livestock theft, organized crime, terrorist incursions, and kidnappings. Dembélé highlighted the resulting insecurity, which has led to significant loss of human lives and forced population movements to safer areas.
