Sahara issue: Angola for a political solution based on compromise

The Republic of Angola is for a political solution based on compromise regarding the dispute over the Sahara, we learned from media sources.

In a joint press release published on Tuesday in Rabat, at the end of the work of the 3rd session of the Mixed Commission for Moroccan-Angolan Cooperation, co-chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans residing abroad , Nasser Bourita, and the Minister of External Relations of the Republic of Angola, Téte Antonio, the head of Angolan diplomacy affirmed that his country “encourages the efforts of the Secretary General of the United Nations and his Personal Envoy, Mr. Staffan de Mistura, to find a political solution that is just, lasting, mutually acceptable to the parties and based on compromise”.

The two ministers also renewed their unwavering commitment to the principles of law and international legality and to respect for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of States, the joint statement said.
