Uasin Gishu County Assists Mother with Newborn Triplets

UASIN GISHU – The local government of Uasin Gishu County has extended crucial support to a family in Koitebes village, Kesses Sub-county, following the birth of triplets.

According to Kenya News Agency, officials visited Mary Morogo, a mother of ten, who recently welcomed triplets. The visitation team delivered essential items such as food, clothing, and bedding to assist the family. Morogo, overwhelmed by the arrival of the triplets, expressed her gratitude for the support, acknowledging her concern over providing for the newborns on the limited income she and her husband Reuben earn from agricultural labor.

During the assistance event, Eunice Suter, the Chief Officer for Social Services, remarked on the inadequate living conditions of the Morogo family and underscored the necessity of community intervention to secure the triplets’ welfare. The county, in collaboration with the Kesses constituency’s parliamentary office and local community members, has pledged to build a new home for the Morogo family to address their housing crisis.

Peter Ruto, the Director for Social Service, highlighted a draft policy aimed at ensuring housing for vulnerable community members, which is pending cabinet approval. The initiative reflects Uasin Gishu County’s commitment to supporting disadvantaged families, ensuring they receive the foundational needs for a dignified life. Asbel Choge, an assistant administrator, along with other social workers, contributed to the aid distribution, demonstrating the collective effort to uplift the family’s living standards.
