Brother and sister arrested for allegedly having a sexual relationship

A 36-year-old Namibian man and a 21-year-old Namibian woman, who are biological siblings, were arrested on alleged charges of incest.

According to a Namibian Police Force (NamPol) report, an argument is said to have erupted between the brother and sister on Wednesday at around 22h00 over minor issues.

“The lady came to Nomtsoub police station claiming that she was assaulted by her elder brother, who was allegedly accusing her of having a boyfriend,” NamPol in the report said.

When the police interviewed the woman, she allegedly stated that she has been having a sexual relationship with her biological brother for the past two years.

Both suspects rent in the same room in Nomtsuob in Tsumeb in the Oshikoto Region.

The brother and sister were expected to appear at the Tsumeb Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
