PGH la Palmeraie Polo Club d’Assilah Crowned Winner of Morocco’s Polo Throne Cup

Rabat, Morocco – The PGH la Palmeraie Polo Club of Assilah triumphed at the 2nd edition of the Coupe du Trône, held in Rabat from November 14 to 19. The event, organized under the High Instructions of HM King Mohammed VI by the Royal Moroccan Polo Federation, concluded with PGH la Palmeraie Polo Club clinching the title.

According to Burkina Information Agency, the final match, played at the Club Polo de la Garde Royale in Souissi-Rabat, saw PGH la Palmeraie Polo Club of Assilah defeating the Royal Guard team with a close score of 6 to 5. The victory marked a significant achievement for the team in this prestigious tournament.

The third place in the tournament was secured by the Jnan Amar Polo Club from Marrakech, which won against the team from the Royal Cavalry School of Témara with a score of 11 goals to 4 ½. The semi-finals had witnessed the Royal Guard team winning against the Royal Cavalry School (7 – 1½), while PGH la Palmeraie Polo Club qualified at the expense of the Polo Club Jnan Amar (8-3).

The qualifying events for this prestigious polo tournament were held at the Club Polo Houara in Tangier. Moulay Abdellah Alaoui, president of the Royal Moroccan Federation of Equestrian Sports, presented the trophy to the captain of the winning team, marking a celebratory end to the tournament.

The first edition’s title was won by the Royal Guard team, which had defeated PGH la Palmeraie Polo Club of Assilah in the final (5-0).
