Tuy Province Launches Training Workshop for Non-Formal Education Facilitators

Houndé: A training workshop for 15 facilitators and one supervisor for non-formal education centers in the Tuy province commenced on Monday, December 4, 2023, in Houndé. The High Commissioner of Tuy province, Issiaka Segda, officially inaugurated the workshop, aimed at enhancing educational opportunities in the region.

According to Burkina Information Agency, Organized by the Andal and Pinal association as part of the Project to Strengthen the Education System and Emergency Response (PRSERU) in the Hauts-Bassins region, the training will span 21 days. According to Aminata Diallo, the national coordinator of the Andal and Pinal association, the training seeks to improve participants’ skills in managing ‘second chance schools,’ which offer alternative education models. The PRSERU in Tuy province aims to address the educational needs of 10,305 children, including those in primary and post-primary schools accommodating internally displaced students, and others enrolled in accelerated learning programs. High Commissioner Segda commended the Andal and Pinal association for its commitment to supporting children’s right to education and urged participants to fully engage in the training to effectively apply their newfound knowledge.
