Minister Thulas Nxesi hands over Labour Centre in Malelane, Mpumalanga Province, 17 Mar

The Department of Employment and Labour Minister, Thulas Nxesi, will this Thursday, 17 March 2022 officially open and hand over the Malelane Labour Centre to the officials and stakeholders in the Nkomazi Municipality.

The launch will be accompanied by a service delivery campaign in which clients will be assisted with a package of the department’s services including:

• Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF) registration, assessment, processing, and payments of claims, Resolving general UIF inquiries and TERS.

• Registering work seekers and providing Employment counseling.

• Compensation Fund inquiries and registrations.

• Inspection Enforcement Services

Clients are advised to bring along their identity documents as well as any work document they have.

The new cutting-edge labor Centre will continue to serve communities in and around the Nkomazi Municipality, including Malelane, Matsamo, Mbangwane, Masibekela, and Kamhlushwa. The labor center has been upgraded and is now Occupational Health and Safety compliant, with accommodations for disabled clients.

After the office was declared unsafe, the Department, in collaboration with the Department of Public Works, began the renovation project in 2019. The labor Centre was temporarily relocated to another floor in the same building to ensure the continuation of services.
