Woman and Adult Son Found Dead in Oshakati; Autopsies Pending

OSHAKATI: A woman and her adult son were found dead in their home in the Okanghudi village on Saturday, sparking a police investigation.

According to a new release by Namibia Press Agency, the Ohangwena Crime Investigations Coordinator for the Namibian Police Force (NamPol), the bodies were discovered around 18h55 in a thatched room within their residence. The discovery was made by a neighbor who had gone to check on them.

The deceased have been identified as Miriam Johannes and Simon Petrus, aged approximately 61. Amakali confirmed that both individuals resided in the same house.

The cause of their deaths remains unknown, and the bodies have been transported to the Eenhana District State Hospital for autopsies to determine the cause of death.
