Tigers football players involved in accident

The Namibian Police have confirmed a road accident involving Tigers Football Club players, who were traveling from the north.

NamPol spokesperson Inspector Raimbert Muronga said the accident happened on Monday around 01h30, between Otjiwarongo and Okahandja.

‘It is alleged that the driver of a white Ford Ranger Double Cab traveling with six passengers from Oshakati to Windhoek lost control of the vehicle, causing it to swerve. It left the road, rolled four times and landed on its roof. The driver and passengers sustained slight to moderate injuries and were transported to Otjiwarongo State Hospital for treatment,’ Muronga said.

He added that the victims were all in stable condition.

Meanwhile, Tigers Sports Club chairman, Nelson Akwenye said a tyre burst caused the accident.
