OUAGADOUGOU – Burkina Faso’s air forces carried out significant bombing raids against terrorist encampments in the Eastern and Sahel regions this Saturday, targeting the insurgents who had launched a large-scale attack on the town of Boungou, as confirmed by security sources to AIB. The assault on Boungou, located a few kilometers from Tawori in the Eastern region, was repelled by the Fighting Forces with noted bravery and determination.

According to Burkina Information Agency, after successfully driving back the terrorists, the air vectors pursued the fleeing militants to their stronghold situated approximately fifteen kilometers from Boungou. The ensuing airstrikes were described as intensive, ultimately decimating the terrorist base along with its equipment.

In a related incident on the same day, around 1 pm, the Combatant Forces encountered an ambush by terrorists in the Falagountou area within the Sahel region.
