High Commissioner of Loroum Meets with Women to Discuss Peace and Social Cohesion

Ouahigouya – In an effort to foster dialogue and address key issues, the High Commissioner of the Loroum province, Djibril Bassolé, conducted a meeting with women from the province in Titao on Tuesday, November 7, 2023. The meeting focused on discussions about peace, social cohesion, and various development issues affecting the region.

According to Burkina Information New Agency, the exchange provided an opportunity to review the actions undertaken by the administration aimed at strengthening the resilience of the population and encouraging the return of displaced people. A participant, who requested anonymity, remarked on the productivity of the discussions, highlighting topics such as women’s resilience and empowerment initiatives.

Aminata Ouermi, the provincial head of women, expressed appreciation for the meeting with the High Commissioner. She noted that the discussions covered the security situation and initiatives in health, education, and other areas. Ouermi revealed that contrary to prior beliefs, the administration has been actively working to maintain projects in Titao.

High Commissioner Bassolé expressed satisfaction with the progress of the discussions. He noted that the meeting allowed various women’s groups to voice their concerns and for technical services to present their actions and future prospects in their respective fields.

Bassolé emphasized the importance of discussing peace and social cohesion with the women and called for their strong commitment to improving communal living. He has been engaging in increased meetings with different social groups in Titao since October 2023 to understand their concerns and explore suitable solutions.
