Committee to conduct oversight visits at Eldorado Park & Norwood Police Stations

The Gauteng Provincial Legislature’s Portfolio Committee on Community Safety led by Chairperson Dr Bandile Masuku will on Friday, 10 February 2023 conduct oversight visits at the Eldorado Park & Norwood Police Stations.

The Committee’s oversight visit at the Eldorado Park Police Stations is prompted by the many complaints the Committee received on the rampant violence and crime in the area.

The Committee will receive a presentation from the Station Commander on the current state of violence and crime in the area as well as intervention measures put in place to curb the scourge of criminality in Eldorado Park.

This will assist the Committee in formulating and making recommendation on its own interventions that will be aimed at improving Policing in the area and ensuring that the Community of Eldorado Park is and feel safe at all times.

The Committee will subsequently visit the Norwood Police Station to receive an update report on an investigation on the 158 firearms which were stolen from the Station.
