Somalia is on the verge of defeating terrorism and achieving progress and recovery, according to the Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Mr. Hamza Abdi Barre. He made this statement at a ceremony to showcase a film about the different stages of the state-building process in Somalia.

The film, titled “The Journey of a Nation”, depicts the challenges and achievements of the Somali people in their quest for peace, stability and democracy. It also highlights the role of the international community, especially Djibouti, in supporting Somalia’s state-building efforts.

Mr. Hamza praised the Somali people for their resilience and determination to overcome the scourge of the Khawarij terrorists who are against peace and development. He also thanked the Government and People of the Republic of Djibouti for their invaluable role in the establishment of the Somali Government once again. He described Djibouti as a friend who has invested money and mind in how to bring Somalia back to life, after the collapse of the nation. He stressed that the current statehood that Somalia has is a gift from the people of Djibouti.

The ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including the President of Djibouti, Mr. Ismail Omar Guelleh, the Speaker of the Somali Parliament, Mr. Mohamed Mursal Abdirahman, and representatives from various countries and organizations.
