Ethiopian Government to Implement Transitional Justice Policy


Addis Ababa — The Ethiopian Government has reaffirmed its commitment to implementing the Transitional Justice Policy, aimed at resolving past conflicts and ensuring peace, announced Tesfaye Beljige, Chief Government Whip at the House of People’s Representatives.



According to Ethiopian News Agency, the policy was recently approved by the Council of Ministers. Tesfaye Beljige emphasized the importance of transitional justice in achieving a sustainable resolution to the country’s crises. He highlighted the government’s proactive role in initiating and preparing the policy framework.



Furthermore, House of People’s Representatives Speaker Tagesse Chaffo indicated that the Ministry of Justice would coordinate the policy’s implementation, stressing the need for a participatory approach tailored to Ethiopia’s social and political landscape. The meeting underscored the collective responsibility of all stakeholders in realizing national dialogue and implementing the Transitional Justice Policy.
