OUAGADOUGOU — Lieutenant-Colonel Ismaël Kiswendsida Souampa Diaouari, a distinguished military officer and Chief of Staff of the Faso Presidency, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Directors for the company Textile des Forces Armés (Tex FORCES-BF). This company is renowned for its specialization in producing and marketing a range of outfits for military, paramilitary, and civilian professionals.

According to Burkina Information Agency, 2024, this strategic appointment places Lieutenant-Colonel Diaouari at the helm of Tex FORCES-BF’s board, aligning with Burkina Faso’s broader objectives to leverage its substantial cotton production for local industrial use. With advanced degrees in commerce, international relations, and military sciences from prestigious institutions, including a notable stint at Fort Leavenworth in the United States, Diaouari’s leadership is expected to propel the company toward significant achievements in local textile manufacturing. Furthermore, the initiative aligns with the national strategy to foster local consumption and add value to Burkina Faso’s cotton output, evidenced by the use of faso-danfani fabric in the production of school uniforms and academic attire.
