Ethiopia and Mauritius Commit to Strengthening Bilateral Relations

ADDIS ABABA – Ethiopia and Mauritius have reached an agreement to enhance their bilateral relations, signaling a mutual desire to foster closer ties for the benefit of their peoples. This agreement comes as part of both countries’ broader strategies to engage more deeply on the African continent and beyond.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, Ethiopia’s State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Mesganu Arga, held discussions with Premode Neerunjun, Cabinet Secretary and Head of the Civil Service of the Office of the Prime Minister of Mauritius. Ambassador Mesganu emphasized Ethiopia’s dedication to the African cause and its support for Mauritius in international forums. The two sides agreed on the potential for cooperation in trade, tourism, aviation, and agriculture, aiming to strengthen their relations. They also highlighted the importance of establishing bilateral mechanisms at various levels to streamline their interactions, as shared by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on its social media pages.
