Hugo Broos Unveils 44-Member Preliminary Bafana Squad for FIFA World Cup Qualifiers Against Benin and Rwanda

Durban – Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos has released a 44-member preliminary squad for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Benin and Rwanda.

According to South African Football Association, the South African team will host Benin at Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban during the weekend of 17 to 19 November 2023. Following this match, the team will travel to Huye to compete against Rwanda on Tuesday, 21 November 2023.

The squad will assemble for training camp at the University of Pretoria on Monday, 13 November 2023. They are scheduled to travel to Durban on 16 November and, after the match against Benin, will leave for Rwanda on 19 November. The team is expected to return to South Africa on 22 November.

Hugo Broos is set to reduce the preliminary 44-member roster to a final list of 23 players in the coming days for the two World Cup qualifying matches.
