Man dies in hit and run incident at Mpungu/Okongo road
A 46-year-old man died at Mpoto Mutara village in the Kavango West Region on Tuesday after he was allegedly hit by a vehicle while walking on the road.
The Namibian Police Force (NamPol) in the Kavango West Region are suspecting a hit and run incident.
According to a regional daily crime report issued by NamPol on Wednesday, the incident occurred on the Mpungu/Okongo main road around 22h00.
It is alleged that the unidentified driver of an unidentified vehicle bumped the man as they were driving from Mpungu towards Okongo.
He died on the spot.
It is alleged that the driver drove off and failed to report the accident to the police.
The police have commenced a search for the suspect, who has not yet been apprehended.
Police investigations into the matter continue.
