President Ruto to Attend Interdenominational Prayer Service in Bomet County

Bomet, Bomet County – President William Ruto is scheduled to attend an interdenominational prayer service in Bomet County on Sunday. The event, set to take place at the Club 181 Stadium in Sotik Sub County, will also see the President engaging with local residents and unveiling various development projects in the region.

According to Kenya News Agency, The Bomet County Housing Officer reported that one of the key projects includes the President’s affordable housing initiative, already underway in Bomet Central Sub-County. This project, involving the construction of 250 housing units, is providing employment opportunities for over 200 local youths. The project, part of the Affordable Housing Programme, aims to create a new generation of homeowners and is expected to be completed within 12 months.

Another significant project that President Ruto is set to commission is the main power line from Olkaria-Bomet-Migori-Muhoroni, which will transmit 132KVA of electricity. This development is poised to enhance the region’s power infrastructure significantly.

Bomet County Commissioner Dr. Omar Ahmed called upon residents to participate in large numbers and warmly receive the Head of State. He also issued a warning against any potential disruptions, referring to a previous incident during an affirmative fund event hosted by Bomet Women Rep Linet Chepkorir. Dr. Omar assured that security organs are on high alert to maintain peace and order during the President’s visit.

This visit marks President Ruto’s second trip to Bomet County since his inauguration as the fifth President of the Republic of Kenya, signifying his commitment to engaging with local communities and advancing regional development.
