Ethiopia Launches Sustainable Practices Project for Textile Sector

ADDIS ABABA: A new initiative aimed at promoting sustainable practices within Ethiopia’s textile and garment industry was inaugurated today.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, the project, supported by the Global Environment Facility, focuses on enhancing chemical and waste management to foster a circular economy. Milkessa Jagema, Director-General of the Manufacturing Industry Development Institute, stated that the project would involve extensive training and support for local textile facilities to improve sustainability and reduce pollution.
