Ethiopia Issues New Directive to Open Trade Sectors to Foreign Investors


ADDIS ABABA: The Ethiopian Investment Board has released a new directive allowing foreign investors to participate in certain trade sectors that were previously restricted.



According to Ethiopian News Agency, Commissioner of the Ethiopian Investment Commission, this initiative aims to improve competitiveness and quality in the trade sector by gradually liberalizing investment opportunities in export, import, wholesale, and retail trades to enhance integration into the global value chain and foster economic growth.
