OIC Assistant Secretary-General for Humanitarian, Social and Cultural Affairs, meets with UK minister of state in the Foreign Commonwealth & development office (FCDO)

Ambassador Tarig Ali Bakheet and the OIC General Secretariat’s delegation participating in the Riyadh Humanitarian Forum met with H. E Mr. Andrew Mitchell, UK Minister of State in the Foreign Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) in charge of Development and Africa.

Both parties exchanged views on the major regional and international issues as well as ways and means to enhance bilateral relations between the OIC and the United Kingdom based on the MoU signed in 2012, which covers cooperation in several areas including the promotion of peace and interfaith and intercultural dialogue and cooperating on humanitarian assistance and human rights.

The meeting emphasized the need to coordinate to address the humanitarian needs especially in the OIC Member States such as Afghanistan, the Sahel, horn of Africa and Lake Chad region.
