For ECOWAS, Niger’s security has become more fragile since Bazoum was sidelined

ECOWAS condemned the terrorist attacks which took place yesterday Tuesday in Niger, before demanding the return to constitutional order because according to it, security in this country has been further weakened since the arrest of President Mohamed Bazoum.

“ECOWAS has learned with dismay of the various attacks perpetrated by armed groups in the Republic of Niger, which have caused the death of several Nigerien soldiers.

It strongly condemns these attacks and offers its most sincere condolences to the people of Niger and to the families of the soldiers who lost their lives in these attacks.

ECOWAS calls on the military leaders of the CNSP to restore constitutional order in Niger so that they can focus their attention on security in the country, which has become more fragile since the coup attempt against the democratically elected President, HE Mr. Mohammad Bazoum.
