Rehoboth Eyes Economic Revival with Reho Spa Ownership Transfer

WINDHOEK: The Rehoboth Town Council (RTC) is poised for an economic boost following the anticipated transfer of Reho Spa from Namibia Wildlife Resorts (NWR) to RTC. Despite facing administrative hurdles, RTC officials are optimistic about resolving the outstanding issues, including transfer cost payments, to facilitate the handover of the spa.

According to The Namibia Press Agency, RTC Acting Chief Executive Officer Ronald Windswaai outlined plans for strategic developments and renovations aimed at enhancing the spa’s appeal to tourists. The upgrades will focus on modernizing accommodation, introducing eco-friendly practices, and positioning Reho Spa as a premier destination for natural beauty and luxury experiences. This initiative reflects a collaborative effort between NWR and RTC to leverage the spa’s potential for regional development and economic revitalization.

NWR Corporate Communications Manager Nelson Ashipala emphasized that the ownership transition aligns with governmental goals of regional development and economic growth through natural resources. The transformation of Reho Spa into a wellness tourism hub is expected to create job opportunities, stimulate local businesses, and enrich the community, marking a significant milestone in Rehoboth’s socio-economic development.
