Luanda – Angola has joined global aviation leaders at the 18th Edition of the Dubai Airshow 2023, a prominent event in the aerospace industry, held from November 13th to 17th at Dubai World Central (DWC). The Angolan delegation is led by the Minister of National Defence, Former Combatants and Veterans of the Homeland, João Ernesto dos Santos.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the Angolan team, including the country’s ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Júlio Maiato, attended the opening ceremony of the airshow. The ceremony was under the patronage of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President, Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates, and Governor of Dubai.

The Dubai Airshow 2023 is supported by key aviation stakeholders such as Dubai Airports, Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA), UAE Ministry of Defence, Dubai Aviation Engineering Projects (DAEP), and the UAE Space Agency. This edition of the airshow is distinguished by its focus on sustainability initiatives and technologies, showcasing contributions from government bodies and the aerospace industry. This emphasis aligns with the UAE’s dedication to advancing sustainable circularity, a critical theme ahead of the upcoming COP28 summit scheduled for December.
