Community Vigilance Movement Initiates Security Awareness in Bittou


BITTOU – In a proactive response to escalating insecurity, the Bittou citizen and patriotic watch movement convened a series of enlightening engagements to bolster communal resilience against threats. These initiatives, particularly poignant amid rising regional tensions, aim to foster collaborative vigilance.



According to Burkina Information Agency, On March 15, 2024, Bittou’s town hall became the focal point for a crucial dialogue involving religious leaders and security forces. Orchestrated by the movement’s coordinator, Diessongo Moubarik, the event featured key insights from Commissioner Drabo Moussa of GUMI 8 and the local gendarmerie’s commander. The discussions revolved around enhancing cooperation with the defense and security forces (FDS) and the Homeland Defense Volunteers (VDP), spotlighting the imperative to identify and counteract insurgent collaborators. The assembly culminated in a collective pledge from the religious congregations to support these entities, affirming a united front against the specter of insecurity.
