Kajiado: Lions Prey on Livestock in Emakoko, Isinya Sub County


In Emakoko, Isinya Sub County, Kajiado County, residents are grappling with the loss of livestock following a series of lion attacks. A pride of lions is reported to have killed twenty sheep and a cow in a local homestead, adding to the growing incidents of wildlife conflict in the area.



According to Kenya News Agency, the owner of the affected livestock, the pride of lions, believed to be from the adjacent Nairobi National Park, breached a kraal and attacked the animals during the night. This incident comes just a week after two lionesses were reported to have killed three sheep and critically injured others in the same locality, highlighting the increasing frequency and severity of such encounters between wildlife and local communities.



The repeated incidents have raised concerns among residents about the safety of their livestock and the need for effective measures to prevent future attacks.
