Premier Kaobitsa Bushy Maape wishes South Africa Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

The end of the year is a special time for everyone as it marks the end of the journeys we have travelled through the year. It is a time to reflect on where we are as individuals, families, the province and the nation as a whole. The accomplishments and challenges of 2022 should inspire us to focus on new possibilities and future endeavors.

As we note the many milestones we have reached and celebrated, we also acknowledge the concerted efforts we have implored as the North West Provincial Government to ensure efficient and effective service delivery to our people, to deepen social solidarity, tackle poverty, unemployment, inequalities as well as social ills such as Gender Based Violence and Femicide.

As we celebrate the end of a productive year and recharge for the New Year, let us do so responsibly. We cannot afford to lose any more lives on our roads. I therefore urge all road users to be cautious on our roads, obey all traffic rules and drive with careful consideration for others.

Christmas is about the expression of love and compassion, a season of sharing. I call on all of our people to extend a helping hand to those less fortunate in our communities.

As we go into the new year, let us continue to work together towards building a prosperous and peaceful province. On behalf of the North West Provincial government leadership, I wish you and your families a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
