Nyamira Schools Celebrate Outstanding KCPE Results

Nyamira, Kenya – Schools in Nyamira County, encompassing both public and private institutions, have erupted in celebrations following their exemplary performance in the recently released Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) results.

According to Kenya News Agency, the school achieved its highest mean score of 381 marks since its establishment in 1989. The top student from the school scored 423 marks, with 44 candidates scoring 400 marks and above. Additionally, 135 candidates scored between 350 to 399 marks, and 5 candidates achieved 300 to 349 marks. “We are grateful to the Almighty for this impressive performance and I thank all the parents, teachers, Board of Management and the church for their collaborative spirit and tireless support,” Momanyi said.

Mr. Eric Abuga, a parent of a student who scored 410 marks, praised the teachers for their consistent efforts in maintaining discipline and academic focus among students. He noted the historical significance of this year’s results, as the current 844 syllabi have been phased out.

Eronge Adventist Boarding Primary School also continued its history of strong performance, with the headteacher Kepha Bwana reporting that out of 350 candidates, 36 scored 400 marks and above. The leading candidate from this school scored 413 marks. Bwana expressed satisfaction with the results, attributing the success to the dedication of teachers, commitment of parents, and support from the Board of Management. “Though our mean score slightly dropped, we are very proud of our score,” Bwana stated, adding excitement about transitioning to the new competency-based education syllabus.

Other schools in Nyamira celebrating impressive performances include Nyamira Down Forest School, where the best candidate scored 424 marks and the school achieved a mean score of 402. Alimo Academy’s 30 candidates attained a mean score of 395, with their top candidate scoring 408 marks. Royal Metropolis, with a candidature of 68 students, reached a mean score of 382, and St. George’s Academy, registering 130 candidates, had a mean score of 368.

The Cabinet Secretary for Education, Mr. Ezekiel Machogu, in his official release of the KCPE results, assured that the selection and placement of these candidates in various secondary schools would commence on Monday, November 27. This announcement gives parents sufficient time to prepare for their children’s enrollment in secondary schools.
