Training Token For Women’s Day

Baringo business women trained on digital marketing to boost sales from business and network globally ahead of the international women’s day to be commemorated on March 8.

Speaking to KNA during the training, Baringo County Center for Enhanced Democracy and Good Governance (CEDGG) officer Caroline Tuitoek said it was important for women to be tech savvy in an ever-evolving world and the training would go a long way in improving sales of their products and services online hence improve development.

“This year’s theme is ‘digitALL: Technology and innovation for gender equality’, we are keen on transforming the lives of women in the digital economy through training and sensitization on social media marketing tools such as TikTok and Facebook in order to boost sales and also aid in communication,” said Tuitoek.

She added that the training was focused on improving their online presence and use if their smartphones to market their products and overcoming online cyber bullies.

Beatrice Kiyeng the chairlady of the Kewamoi women dancers and Kewamoi ushanga group said they were glad to have received the training on online marketing adding that having an online presence would enable them be noticed get opportunities to perform during events and as well market their beadwork.

Cynthia Yano a trader at the Kabarnet market was excited to learn online marketing, promising to maximize marketing her goods across social media platforms to increase sales.

“I didn’t know that my smartphone had such amazing applications. I am glad that I have learnt alot today and I thank Museums of Kenya and CEDGG for the training,” Kadogo said.

Alice Kipyegen, a farmer in Kabarnet town said she farms vegetables using a pyramid kitchen garden, dairy farming and poultry farming but due to drought challenges she does it for subsistence farming and was glad that the digital marketing training would enable her train farmers since she is conversant on home economics and also sell her farm products online once rains resume.
