Mombasa Chief Kadhi Calls for Increased Security During Ramadhan


MOMBASA, Kenya – Chief Kadhi Abdulhalim Athman has appealed to the Ministry of Interior and National Administration for enhanced security measures throughout the upcoming month of Ramadhan, emphasizing the need for peaceful observance and communal harmony.



According to Kenya News Agency, Chief Kadhi Athman emphasized the significance of the holy month, marked by fasting, prayer, and acts of charity. With the sighting of the Ramadhan crescent confirmed, he outlined the importance of ensuring safety for the faithful engaged in nightly prayers and the businesses operating extended hours in anticipation of Eid celebrations.



Chief Kadhi Athman’s call extends beyond security measures, urging utility services like the Department of Water and Kenya Power and Lighting Company to provide uninterrupted supplies to support the observance of Ramadhan. He highlighted the month as a time for Muslims to practice greater kindness, humility, unity, and love, in accordance with the teachings of Prophet Muhammad.



The Chief Kadhi also addressed the Muslim community directly, encouraging those who are financially able to assist the less fortunate, offer comfort to the destitute, and reinforce community bonds during this period of spiritual significance.
