Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikos Dendias’ statement upon arrival at the Extraordinary meeting of NATO Ministers of Foreign Affairs (Brussels, 04.03.2022)

Greece, as a principle, is always for international rule of law. And of course, the present situation in Ukraine presents the gravest challenge to the rule of International Law in the 21st century.

In our today’s discussion in NATO, we have to address this challenge, in a very appropriate manner, with full unity and with full conformity with International Law.

Apart from this, as you know, Greece has a substantial minority of 150,000 people around Mariupol in Ukraine. We care about those people.  As we speak, there is “Nostos 3”, our third evacuation operation. We care and we pray for our compatriots.
