Delivery of Greek humanitarian aid to the Ukrainian people, including Diaspora Greeks, in Odessa (11.04.2022) and departure of the 4th Humanitarian Mission of the Hellenic Red Cross to Ukraine (Odessa, 12.04.2022)

The Consul General of Greece in Odessa, Dimitris Dochtsis, received today additional Greek humanitarian aid, to be delivered to the suffering Ukrainian people, including Diaspora Greeks.

The humanitarian aid is granted under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the assistance of the Region of Attica, the Hellenic Red Cross, the Doctors of the World (Greece) and the Hellenic Hypermarkets Sklavenitis SA, as well as with the support of the charitable organization “Boubouras Foundation”.

This humanitarian aid, which includes foodstuffs, hygienic and pharmaceutical products, is additional to the humanitarian aid carried by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Nikos Dendias, to the Ukrainian people, in the context of his recent visit to the historic city of Odessa (April 3, 2022).

In addition, tomorrow, April 12, 2022, the 4th Humanitarian Mission of the Hellenic Red Cross to Ukraine will depart from Athens to Odessa.

In particular, 50 tonnes of humanitarian supplies, including non-perishable foods, bottled water, antiseptics, medical supplies and three generators, will be transported to cover the immediate needs of the city’s affected population.

The Director General for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Alexandros Diakopoulos, will attend the departure of the Mission.
