ADVZ Awards Bicycles to Top Students in Zorgho Schools

Zorgho, Burkina Faso – The Association for the Development of Zorgho Villages (ADVZ) honored academic achievement by awarding bicycles to the top students of three primary schools in the commune of Zorgho. The ceremony took place on November 22, 2023, at the Zorgho town hall.

According to Burkina Information Agency, nine students from Digré, Kambambori “B”, and Loundogo “A” schools were the recipients of these bicycles. Each school had three students who achieved the highest averages in the Primary School Certificate (CEP) examination for the 2023 session.

The bicycles, provided by ADVZ, were funded through fairs organized by the association’s president and her delegation during their stay in Zorgho. Michelle Gueguen, the president of ADVZ, explained that the initiative aims to motivate these students to pursue their secondary education with the same level of excellence.

One of the beneficiaries, Wendlassida Rachidatou Ganaba from Kambambori “B” school, expressed her gratitude towards ADVZ. She highlighted how the bicycle would ease her commute to school and pledged to maintain her academic performance.

Balman Véronique Wendyam, the mother of another winner, echoed these sentiments. She noted that the bicycles would significantly aid the students in their educational journey. Furthermore, she expressed gratitude to ADVZ and hoped the association would continue to support the youth in their academic endeavors.

ADVZ, based in Verrières-le-Buisson, France, annually sends a delegation to Zorgho to undertake various projects. These projects are aimed at contributing to the development of the local population and the advancement of the town.
