Ethiopian, Qatari Foreign Affairs State Ministers Hold Bilateral Discussion

Addis Ababa Foreign Affairs State Minister Ambassador Misganu Arega held a fruitful bilateral discussion with State Minister for Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, Soltan bin Saad Al-Muraikhi.

The two officials had the discussion on the sidelines of the 5th UN Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC5) Summit being held in Doha.

During the discussion the two sides exchanged views on regional issues of common interest.

Recall that the five days LDC conference kicked off on Sunday in Doha in the presence of Ethiopia’s Prime Minister and other leaders of several countries.

The objective of the conference is to mobilize international community’s commitments towards the implementation of the Doha Programme of Action for the LDCs (2022-2031) adopted by the UN General Assembly in April 2022.

Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim ibn Hamad Al Thani announced a 60 million USD financial contribution to Doha Programme of Action (DPoA) during his keynote opening address at the LDC5.
