Mdantsane Hosts Public Hearings on National Small Enterprise Amendment Bill

Mdantsane – Today, the Portfolio Committee on Small Business Development is holding public hearings on the National Small Enterprise Amendment (NSEA) Bill [B16-2023] at the NU10 Community Hall within the Buffalo City Metropolitan Municipality.

According to Parliament of South Africa, these hearings are a constitutional mandate, following section 59(1)(a) of the Republic of South Africa’s Constitution, which requires the National Assembly to ensure public involvement in the legislative and other processes of the Assembly and its committees. The NSEA Bill is designed to establish the Small Enterprise Development Finance Agency and the Office of the Small Enterprise Ombud Service, among other provisions.

The hearings are open for participation to all interested parties, including individuals and organizations, allowing them to present their perspectives on the proposed legislation.
