Baringo Authorities Implement Comprehensive Security Measures for National Examinations

Baringo – Baringo County Commissioner Stephen Kutwa has announced that rigorous security measures have been implemented to ensure the safe conduct of this year’s National Examinations for over 48,000 candidates.

According to Kenya News Agency, who spoke to KNA in his office on Monday, around 3,200 officers have been dispatched to guard 1,605 examination centers for the Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA), Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE), and Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE). He noted that the recently commissioned National Police Reservist (NPR) will serve as additional backup security, especially in conflict-prone areas of Baringo South and North.

The commissioner emphasized that the measures aim to prevent any major disruptions during the examinations, especially in volatile areas. He warned against armed criminals exploiting the exam period to create fear and advised residents in these regions to report any suspicious activities immediately.

Deputy County Commissioner Monicah Ithatwa, who was present during the opening of the examination container in Kabarnet town, said the process was largely smooth. She mentioned a slight delay due to morning rains but confirmed that the day-one papers for KCPE and KPSEA were dispatched in good time. Ithatwa expressed optimism that the examination process would continue to run smoothly throughout the week.
