Crime intelligence information lead to arrest of suspects and recovery of explosives
Crime intelligence information resulted in the recovery of explosives and arrest of four suspects on two separate incident over the weekend.
On the first incident on 09 September 2023, members in Johannesburg Central operationalised information about suspects in possession of explosives intended for illegal mining activities. The two suspects, one a woman were indeed found in possession of explosives that were carried inside their bags at Noord Street. They were both arrested.
On another incident that occurred on 10 September 2023, the Provincial Organised Crime, National Intervention Unit and Crime Intelligence followed up on information which led to the arrest of two men in Springs CDB for possession of explosives.
All suspects are expected to appear before respective magistrates’ court today, 11 September 2023 on charges of possession of explosives. Police investigation continues.
