OUAGADOUGOU – Representatives from Burkina Faso and Mali’s National Early Warning and Response Centers are convening from April 23 to April 26, 2024, at the National Center for the Coordination of the Early Warning Mechanism and Response. This assembly aims to enhance joint efforts to foresee and address human security threats within the Alliance of Sahel States (AES).

According to Burkina Information Agency, the Inspector General of Police and permanent secretary of the CN-CMAPR, the meeting, which was inaugurated by Abdoul Salam Gampiné, Secretary General of the Prime Minister, is pivotal in fostering cooperation and pooling resources to proactively manage regional security challenges. This initiative is aligned with the principles set by the Liptako Gourma charter, ratified on September 16, 2023, which marked the formation of AES.
