African Union and IGAD Share Easter Greetings with Ethiopian Christians

Addis Ababa — On the occasion of Ethiopian Easter, Ambassador Bankole Adeoye, the African Union Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace, and Security, extended Easter greetings to Ethiopian Christians.

According to Ethiopian News Agency, The nation celebrated this significant religious festival with a variety of cultural and spiritual events. Ambassador Adeoye conveyed wishes for a blessed and joyful Easter to the Christian community. Additionally, Workneh Gebwyehu, Secretary General of the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), also shared his best wishes with Ethiopian Christians. The observance of Fasika in Ethiopia, which involves a lengthy fasting period, culminates in night-long church services ending early in the morning when the fast is broken.
